I would like to clarify the content of my recent threads exchanged with Olivier Nduhungirehe on Twitter between January 25th and January 29th 2014, in light of the interpretations and questions that hav followed. My clarification is not targeting Olivier Nduhungirehe’s political views, neither his assignment nor the cause or causes he defends through his assignment. My clarification is only dealing with his personal comments against myself and my family.
Olivier Nduhungirehe publically attacked me on twitter on January 25th, blaming me for having posted
on the internet a picture of himself in the company of Patrick Karegeya. A picture that I effectively took
in May 2003, but that I did NOT post on the internet before or after the murder of Patrick Karegeya. In
spite of many rebuttals and reminders that I was not the only one in possession of that picture, both
in public and in private, Olivier Nduhungirehe continued to accuse me, arguing that I did post the above
mentioned picture with the intention to harm him.
On January 27th, an escalation arose in our threads until the point where I reminded him that I was in
possession of compromising e‐mails he wrote, and that if I wanted to post something that would
compromise him, I would have posted those e‐mails and certainly not his picture with Patrick Karegeya.
He then publically and several times provoked me to publish the said e‐mails, leaving me no other
choice but to publish a selection of them on Twitter.

Immediately after publication of these emails, Olivier Nduhungirehe started to harass me, accusing me
of extremely serious crimes that actually never happened, probably with the intention to create a
diversion from the content of those e‐mails, which demonstrated his true nature of liar with a double
face, to the people following our exchange.
Olivier Nduhungirehe did not just personally harass me; during a monologue of about 100 tweets, he
demonised my family and even quoted people who were not linked whatsoever to our threads. Using
insults, casting aspersions and accusations of crimes, he attacked my family starting by my father by
charging him with crimes he knows perfectly well to be untrue.
It is because of these attacks on my family that I have decided to write this clarification, further more
since it is not the first time. Olivier Nduhungirehe has indeed demonstrated once again that he does
not hesitate to falsely and publically call a whole family “genocidaire”, while he visits them, writes to
them and presents his wife and children to them in private.
Fortunately, times have changed. Using accusations of genocide in order to shut down anyone
confronting you, is something that should be denounced by all and by all means, as it is one of the
things that creates injustice and mistrust amongst Rwandese.
