RWANDA : FDU INKINGI AND RNC TAKE MORE EVIDENCE TO THE ICC AGAINST PRESIDENT KAGAME

PRESS RELEASE.

Date : 19 September 2012.

The FDU-Inkingi and Rwanda National Congress (RNC), by their counsel Barrister Christopher C. Black, yesterday forwarded to the Prosecutor of the ICC the report of Human Rights Watch of 12 September, 2012 regarding the crimes of the M23 group in the DRC and the criminal involvement of the Rwandan government in order to further assist the Prosecutor of the ICC in determining whether to launch an official investigation into the matter. «Rwandan officials may be complicit in war crimes through their continued military assistance to M23 forces, Human Rights Watch said. The Rwandan army has deployed its troops to eastern Congo to directly support the M23 rebels in military operations. »

The Rwandan opposition groups pressed charges against President Kagame and his accomplices on 17 August 2012 in the Hague (ICC). The office of the Prosecutor is still processing the complaint.
