PRESS RELEASE

Rwanda National Congress condemns the arrest of three individuals, by the Rwanda National Police. The Government of Rwanda issued a statement confirming the arrest of Kizito Mihigo, a famous Rwandan artist, Cassien Ntamuhanga, a journalist at Amazing Grace Radio, and Jean Paul Dukuzumuremyi, a former RDF soldier. According to the Police statement, the three individuals are accused of working for Rwanda National Congress (RNC), among other charges.

Rwanda National Congress takes this opportunity to inform the public that, we are not aware of the membership of the arrested individuals within our organization; that RNC is not a terrorist organization, and that is not involved in anyways with grenades attacks that claimed lives of innocent people for the past few years.

Rwanda National Congress has credible evidences, that in fact, Rwandan Government is responsible for those grenade attacks. Every time the government wants to silence opponents, or activists, it uses those grenades as an excuse.

RNC is concerned that the accused have no chance to have a fair trial, and also believes that it is in the interest of the Rwanda Government, to immediately release those individuals, because the charges are nothing but frivolous.
