Elle a v\u00e9cu au 16i\u00e8me si\u00e8cle dans les ann\u00e9es 1500.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">C\u2019\u00e9tait une leader n\u00e9e mari\u00e9e \u00e0 Samukende, Roi d\u2019Abenengwe, dont le Royaume s\u2019appelait u Bungwe. Ce royaume comprenait les r\u00e9gions de Busanza du Sud, Bufundu, Nyaruguru, Bashumba-Nyakare et Buyenzi.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Alors que dans toutes les traditions et civilisations du monde les r\u00e9bellions contre les autorit\u00e9s ont toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es par les hommes, Nyagakecuru est l\u2019exception qui confirme la r\u00e8gle.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">En effet, elle a conduit longtemps la r\u00e9bellion contre le pouvoir central \u2018\u2019Rwanda rwa Gasabo\u2019\u2019 du Roi Ruganzu II Ndoli, car elle refusait de lui verser tribut (amaturo) comme le faisait les autres royaumes. Elle faisait de l\u2019ombre \u00e0 son mari, si bien qu\u2019on parle aujourd\u2019hui de l\u2019arm\u00e9e redoutable de Nyagakecuru et de son python f\u00e9roce qui gardait sa maison. Au moment de ses conqu\u00eates expansionnistes men\u00e9es contre d\u2019autres royaumes, le Roi Ruganzu II Ndoli de Banyiginya essuyait chaque fois des \u00e9checs cuisants quand il s\u2019aventurait \u00e0 tenter l\u2019invasion du royaume Bungwe de Nyagakecuru.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Apr\u00e8s la mort du Roi Samukende, c\u2019est son fils Rubuga qui acc\u00e9da au tr\u00f4ne de Bungwe et c\u2019est sur son r\u00e8gne que sa m\u00e8re Nyagakecuru devint invincible face \u00e0 l\u2019arm\u00e9e redoutable \u2018\u2019ibisumizi\u2019\u2019 du Roi Ruganzu. Ce dernier changea de strat\u00e9gie pour venir \u00e0 bout \u00e0 Nyagakecuru. Il reconnut publiquement sa d\u00e9faite devant elle et pour marquer cette armistice, il envoya \u00e0 Nyagakecuru un troupeau de ch\u00e8vres. Mais c\u2019\u00e9tait en fait l\u2019\u00e9quivalent d\u2019un cheval de Troie.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Les ch\u00e8vres ont ravag\u00e9 la cl\u00f4ture des buissons qui entouraient sa maison o\u00f9 veillait le fameux python. La maison mise \u00e0 nue et d\u00e9couverte, le Python quitta son poste faute d\u2019abri.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Le plan fonctionna tr\u00e8s bien. L\u2019attaque du Roi Ruganzu, cette fois-ci, s\u2019av\u00e9ra d\u00e9cisive. Son arm\u00e9e ibisumizi parvint \u00e0 encercler la maison de Nyagakecuru et la tua ainsi que toute son arm\u00e9e.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Le Bungwe, longtemps craint et respect\u00e9 par d\u2019autres royaumes gr\u00e2ce au leadership de Nyagakecuru wo mu bisi bya Huye tomba ainsi au main du pouvoir central du Roi Ruganzu II Ndoli. On dit que depuis la destruction de la maison de Nyagakecuru qui se d\u00e9roula entre 1510-1543, cet endroit situ\u00e9 au sommet du Mont Huye ne fut plus jamais habit\u00e9 (voir photo).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Cela explique pourquoi Nyagakecuru est devenue une l\u00e9gende et qu\u2019elle est entr\u00e9e dans l\u2019imaginaire de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 rwandaise.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Et c\u2019est pour cette raison que nous lui devons un hommage bien senti. Un exemple de courage et de d\u00e9termination pour toutes les femmes. Nyagakecuru \u00e9tait avant-gardiste et un \u00e9lectron libre \u00e0 une \u00e9poque tr\u00e8s lointaine o\u00f9 les femmes \u00e9taient consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme des objets pour les hommes.
