Ce jeudi 8 ao\u00fbt 2024, la Cour militaire de la R\u00e9publique D\u00e9mocratique du Congo a condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 mort 26 leaders du groupe rebelle AFC-M23 pour des accusations de terrorisme, crimes de guerre, et haute trahison. Parmi les condamn\u00e9s figurent des personnalit\u00e9s telles que Corneille Nangaa et \u00c9ric Nkuba, accus\u00e9es de crimes de guerre, de participation \u00e0 un mouvement insurrectionnel et de trahison. La sentence inclut \u00e9galement une amende de 1 milliard de dollars et la confiscation de leurs biens. L’annonce de ce verdict marque une \u00e9tape critique dans la lutte contre les r\u00e9bellions soutenues par des acteurs \u00e9trangers, selon le gouvernement congolais.<\/p>\n

Le ministre de la Justice de la RDC, Constant Mutamba, a salu\u00e9 cette d\u00e9cision en la qualifiant de \u00ab journ\u00e9e historique pour des millions de victimes de l’agression rwandaise \u00bb. Sur son compte X, il a affirm\u00e9 que la d\u00e9termination du gouvernement, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du Pr\u00e9sident F\u00e9lix Tshisekedi, reste in\u00e9branlable pour appliquer toutes les peines sans d\u00e9lai, y compris la peine de mort. Mutamba a \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 l’intention de porter plainte devant la Cour p\u00e9nale internationale (CPI) contre le Pr\u00e9sident rwandais, Paul Kagame, d\u00e9crit comme un \u00ab criminel de guerre \u00bb et \u00ab sanguinaire \u00bb. Il a ajout\u00e9 que si la CPI ne r\u00e9agit pas, la RDC pourrait envisager de se retirer du Statut de Rome, r\u00e9gissant la CPI.<\/p>\n

Corneille Nangaa, l’un des principaux accus\u00e9s, a d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 ce verdict comme une \u00ab aventure d\u2019une justice malade \u00bb au service du Pr\u00e9sident Tshisekedi, qu’il accuse de fraude \u00e9lectorale lors des \u00e9lections de d\u00e9cembre 2023. Selon Nangaa, cette d\u00e9cision judiciaire vise \u00e0 renforcer le r\u00e9gime en place plut\u00f4t qu’\u00e0 rendre une v\u00e9ritable justice.<\/p>\n

En plus des condamnations, le ministre Mutamba a annonc\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9mission prochaine de mandats d’arr\u00eat internationaux pour capturer Nangaa et ses complices qui sont en fuite, affirmant que \u00ab tous ceux qui sont condamn\u00e9s devront purger leur peine en RDC \u00bb. Parmi les autres condamn\u00e9s figurent Sultani Makenga, Bertrand Bisimwa, Jean Jacques Mamba, et Adam Chalwe, tous jug\u00e9s par d\u00e9faut.<\/p>\n
