Le pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain Barack Obama a demand\u00e9 mardi \u00e0 son homologue rwandais Paul Kagame de mettre fin \u00e0 tout soutien aux rebelles en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC), selon un communiqu\u00e9 de la Maison Blanche.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lors d’un appel t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique, Barack Obama a \u00ab\u00a0soulign\u00e9 que tout soutien au groupe rebelle M23 \u00e9tait incompatible avec le d\u00e9sir de stabilit\u00e9 et de paix du Rwanda\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise le document.<\/p>\n

La publication de ce communiqu\u00e9 intervient quelques heures apr\u00e8s que les Etats-Unis ont fermement appel\u00e9 \u00e0 l’arrestation et la poursuite en justice de deux chefs rebelles rwandais et congolais recherch\u00e9s pour crimes de guerre par la Cour p\u00e9nale internationale (CPI).<\/p>\n

Durant leur conversation, MM. Obama et Kagame ont \u00e9galement discut\u00e9 des \u00ab\u00a0probl\u00e8mes de gouvernance de longue date\u00a0\u00bb de la RDC, selon la Maison Blanche. \u00ab\u00a0Le pr\u00e9sident Obama a salu\u00e9 l’engagement du pr\u00e9sident Kagame \u00e0 promouvoir la recherche d’une solution pacifique dans l’est de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo\u00a0\u00bb, ajoute-t-on de m\u00eame source.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain a lanc\u00e9 un appel en faveur d’un accord politique en RDC et adress\u00e9 le m\u00eame message \u00e0 son homologue congolais Joseph Kabila.<\/p>\n

Le M23 est essentiellement form\u00e9 d’ex-rebelles qui, apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9s en 2009 dans l’arm\u00e9e congolaise, se sont mutin\u00e9s en avril dernier et combattent depuis l’arm\u00e9e r\u00e9guli\u00e8re dans la r\u00e9gion du Kivu.<\/p>\n
