FDU-INKINGI CALL FOR AN END TO STALKING ITS VICE-PRESIDENT, BONIFACE TWAGIRIMANA BY SECURITY AGENTS.

PRESS RELEASE

FDU Inkingi, opposition party to the Rwandan government would like to denounce the harassment of its first Vice-President, Mr. Boniface TWAGIRIMANA, in Kigali.

As a matter of fact, this morning of the 27th March 2017, Mr. Boniface Twagirimana has alerted the Rwandan authorities and the public through the daily newspaper Rugali.

Since the morning, he was stalked by an individual whom he believes to be an agent of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI). He recalls his face during the incident of his abduction on December 04, 2015.

The security agent followed him on motorcycle from his home in Remera, to downtown Kigali, and then to the central prison where he was taking food to the Party President, political prisoner Mrs. Victoire INGABIRE. Then the security agent followed him very closely to the market of Nyabugogo and then to Kimisagara.

The Inkingi FDU would like to recall that its members resident in Rwanda have been stalked in the same manner before undergoing arbitrary arrest, acts of violence and kidnapping, as it has been for Mrs. Illuminée IRAGENA, who has been missing for a year now.

We therefore ask the Rwandan authorities to ensure that the physical and moral integrity of the 1st Vice-President of the party, Mr. Boniface TWAGIRIMANA, and other members and sympathizers of the party is safeguarded.
