The King of Rwanda, Major General Paul Kagame Is Looking For New Friends

After crowning himself King of Rwanda, General Kagame has been abandoned by the West. The West had believed Bill Clinton slogan that Kagame was part of “new breed of African leaders committed to democratic governance.

And without resources to attract the Chinese, the Rwanda King does not have Beneficiaries. He is desperately looking for new friends. From the looks of it, the Rwandan King has set his sights on the Middle East.

On January 4, 2016, the Rwandan King visited His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the son of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, ‘Father of the Nation’ and the first President of the UAE.

Three months earlier, n mid-November Kagame was in the region – this time in Dubai, the other part of the United Arab Emirates. That was when Kagame was asked what Rwanda manufactures. He famously stated Rwanda makes computers.

So where does Kagame’s courtship of Arab middle east leave his courtship with Israel?

It was revealed last year that Kagame was working on a multimillion dollar deal that will see Rwanda host illegal immigrants expelled by Israel. Accordingly, Israel would deport hundreds of Eritrean and Sudanese asylum-seekers to Rwanda for favourable deals that include millions of dollars in grants.

We live in interesting times. Stay tuned.
