Global Campaign for Rwandans’ Human Rights is concern about reports of people who have been missing in Rwanda during the April 2014 after they have been taken from their house by their local Police.
Families of those arrested are very concerned about the whereabouts of their loved ones. Regardless that they were taken from their houses by the Police or Security services, they are not able to find them in any police station detentions. The Police are also claiming no knowledge of their whereabouts.
We request that the Rwandan National Police informs families of those arrested where their loved ones have been taken and to make sure that all legal procedures regarding arrests and detentions of any suspects are followed including access to lawyers.
We call for end of unjustified arrests followed by the disappearances of those arrested which is building an atmosphere and abusing individual rights.
