Nyamirambo Family Reports the Mysterious Disappearance of Two Men

The family of Richard Musoni, a father of two living in Nyamirambo, near the stadium and the Kadaffi mosque, has reported his disappearance since 10 June 2024. The family, deeply concerned, has made extensive efforts to locate him, visiting hospitals, police stations, and other relevant locations, but there has been no trace of Musoni.

After reporting the case to the police, the family was told that, as an adult, Mr Musoni may have chosen to leave without informing anyone. The police stated that there was no evidence to suggest that anything sinister had occurred and therefore, no immediate action would be taken.

However, recent developments have increased the family’s concerns. Didier Rubimbura, a close acquaintance of Mr Musoni, who had visited the family a few days after Musoni’s disappearance, has also gone missing. Didier had expressed his determination to help the family search for Musoni and seemed visibly shaken by the circumstances. He even hinted that he suspected foul play might be involved.

Since 20 August 2024, Didier Rubimbura has been unreachable, further fuelling the family’s anxieties. They have been trying to contact him to see if he had gathered any information about Musoni’s whereabouts, but all efforts have proven fruitless.

The family suspects that the disappearances of both Richard Musoni and Didier Rubimbura may be connected, as both men were known survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. They were also actively involved in survivor associations and activities, raising fears within the family and their community that their activism might be linked to their sudden vanishing.

The families are calling for an urgent investigation into the matter, fearing for the safety of both men. The situation has left the local community on edge, as the mystery surrounding their disappearances continues to deepen.
